+1.  For me, the 35-100 would be infinitely more useful for the reasons you have stated.  I like to do all types of photography and don't specialize in any particular area.  For me, the 75 would be a one-trick pony.  Beautiful, sturdy, accurate, and --- unused.  "Almost as good" is usually "Just as good" for most practical purposes.

I very rarely find DOF control lacking in MFT lenses longer than 25mm.  Usually too little DOF is the problem for me with telephoto lens focal lengths when using the sharpest f-stop for the particular lens.
