For $450, Sony's 35/1.8 normal lens had better be a truly stellar performer...

Duh. Nikon's DX 35/1.8 AF-S DX "normal" only costs $195. Stupid sharp, fast focus, etc.

If folks can't generalize from one "normal lens" to another on a system camera, well, I wish you better luck in your future camera gear purchase decisions.

Question remains? What is Sony thinking? Are they counting on suckers for customers?

Or is Sony's 35/1.8 truly superior to the less expensive normal lenses on many other camera systems?

So far, no one has argued the last point - that Sony's lens is truly superior and thus worth the price.

Bad sign for all non-fan-boy prospective NEX system customers....
