I spent some time with the 6D this afternoon...

The 6D is quite a nice camera I really can't see anyone being too unhappy with it. As for the AF, it may appear (on paper) to be the same as the 5DII but in use it clearly is not. I used the 5DII for several years before recently acquiring a 5DIII and I have to say that I was unable to make the 6D AF fail to lock in in a snappy fashion in situations where I could easily make the 5DII hunt. This may have the same AF pattern and possibly a very similar AF sensor but the implementation in this camera seems to be a definite improvement over the 5DII.

Having now used both, I would definitely pick the 6D over the 5DII despite the $400 price difference.

My $.02 anyway, having just spent time fiddling with it.  BTW: the lenses I used were the 40mm pancake and the new 24-70 2.8 L II (that is pretty nice as well but costs more than the camera I had it on  )
