EF-610 DG ST flash on DP2M: no AF assist?
EF-610 DG ST flash on DP2M: no AF assist?
Nov 30, 2012
Hi all,
I just got the EF-610 DG ST for my DP2M, and the AF assist light doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone else confirm this, or do I have a defective flash? All the flash manual says is that it's supposed to activate automatically in dim light, and the DP2M manual doesn't mention it at all, of course. I started on firmware 1.02, then tried 1.03, but it didn't make any difference.
Barring the AF thing, the flash itself seems to work fine in TTL, although it wants the body to default to 1/50th second in aperture priority, so I have to go to manual mode to bump up the shutter speed.
Thanks,
Jerry Thirsty
