Calibration on the cheap....

If you don't start with a calibrated monitor and give the printing company "exactly" what you want, how would the printing company know what to adjust for. I give a print lab a photo of a landscape that I "purposely" tinted blue, I sure don't want the print lab to remove my blue caste and make it look the normal colors.

The cheapest and easiest way to calibrate both your monitor and to generate custom printer ICC profiles for all your favorite ink/paper combinations is to rent the Xrite ColorMunki for 3 days.

This way you don't need to shell out a few hundred dollars.
