OMD: Can I take the same pictures with the 12mm f2.0 and the 17mm f1.8 ?

not for 8 x 10" prints.

The difference in the FOV between those two lenses is a lot!

At the first glance you loose about 2/3 in each dimension, so you get something like 1500x1000px, or about 5x7 in print at 200 dpi resolution.
