Lightroom vs. Picasa as an organizer only

I've read the various discussions here about why Lightroom is better than Picasa because it has superior editing tools and also allows you to do batch processing.  But I'm curious from an organizational standpoint, is it any better?

I use Picasa and I haven't seen any shortcomings in it for organizing photos.  It's face recognition works pretty well, tagging photos is easy, and it's search capabilities are outstanding.  It works well in conjunction with windows file explorer for moving files.  The only weakness I've seen is if you want to work with your photos from 2 different computers.  I like keeping my photos in dropbox.  That lets me upload them from my iPad, gives me access from anywhere, and serves as a way to back up my photos.  So what would I gain if I moved up to LR, especially since I only work with jpgs?

Again, I'm only asking about the organization/cataloging abilities of LR.
