OMD: Can I take the same pictures with the 12mm f2.0 and the 17mm f1.8 ?

Yes and No

This has been mainly answered.  You can get the same field of view, by centering the subject and cropping all sides, as shown.  Essentially you're converting your m4/3 sensor to a lower resolution, smaller compact sensor.  It will look like the same image, but it will not have the same resolution - so technically won't be the same image.
