In Auto ISO mode the camera only uses 1/30 at the widest setting. It sticks to 1/focal length as you zoom, so at 50mm equivalent it'll pick 1/50.

If that's not enough then you have to manually control the ISO, or switch to shutter priority mode in which case you give up control of the aperture (it'll always be wide open at low light).
