Would a half stop really make a huge difference ??

Or is ths a mechanical limitation? 1/3000 or 1/4000 would have been a slam dunk.

Peace, Dave

Going from 1/2000th to 1/3000th is only half a stop.  So you could shoot at F1.8 instead of having to stop down to F2.2..... Is that half stop really going to make or break your photo for a "slam dunk" ??

Even a full stop hardly makes a real difference, which is why most cameras with a built in ND filter (which would of been nice) are 3 stops.  Sometimes even 3 stops on my Fuji X100 wasn't enough and I still needed a screw in ND grad or polarizer for really bright days

Luckily, plenty of ways to attach a ND filter to the RX100

I use a combination of 3 stop, 10 stop (for blurring water etc) and a polarizer which gives 1.5-3 stops depending on settings.

Plenty of control over aperture even in full sun
