Sounds like a typo. Nikon uses 51 point AF on the higher end systems. Either he typed "9" instead of "1", or he is thinking of a different brand than Nikon.

At any rate, the OP is asking about fast-moving subjects, so if he takes his camera usage seriously, he should go with the D300.
