Re: Samsung Series 7 Slate

I acquired a Samsung Series 7 slate a few months back and am pretty happy with it. Basically it's a souped up tablet with a Pentium i5 processor and 4GB RAM. Has a really nice, bright LED display, is windows-based, and has more than enough grunt to run processor-intensive programs including PS or LR. Downside is that max HD space is only 128GB, but that's easily supplemented by using an external HD for archiving.

I'm now doing most of my photo processing on this, and enjoy being able to use touch inputs as well as traditional mouse or keyboard. It has a docking station, so can be set up at a desktop at home along with keyboard, speakers, external monitor, CD drive etc, but can then just be taken out of the docking station and used as a more traditional tablet. (e.g. if you want to do some processing while on a plane or lying in bed or similar)

Admittedly it is a fair bit more expensive than the more common tablets like an IPad or Galaxy, but I like the fact that I can use it to do pretty much anything I could do on a traditional PC, rather than being restricted to proprietary apps.
