I just acquired the SEL1650 and tested it with 5N and 7 (firmware installed on 7). Both do in camera corrections after the shot is taken. Before the shot is taken, you see some deformities and aberrations on the live view screen. Once you take the shot, within a second, the picture changes and you can see the corrections. At the wide end, there is considerable vignetting in low light (not on daylight). However, I compared it to the 1855 and the 16mm pancake. The vignetting with the 16 mm is the same as with 1650 at wide end. There is less at the wide end of the 1855, obviously because its wide end is not as wide as the one with 1655. Without doing any scientific analysis, the lens is just as sharp and usable as the 1855, and much more convenient to have on the camera.
