Just tried FocusTune Software

I just gave Focus Tune software a try and I have to say that I believe this is the best way to Fine Tune Lenses, at least it was for me.

In the past I tried the FOCAL software and I always had problems with the tethering. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

I do not own a Lens Align so I used the target from the FOCAL software.

I taped the target to my Garage door and took 3 photos each using fine tune at -20 -15 -10 -5 0 +5 +10 +15 +20 (at 24mm and at 70mm with my 24-70)

My 24-70 Lens

24mm best at +10
70mm best at +5

I then took 3 more photos of each AFT from +1 to +12 for both 24mm & 70mm

24mm came back at +4
70mm came back at +8

So I am leaving my 24-70 at +6

I then manually compared a Live View test shot and a shot at +6 and they are dead on.

The PDF reports the software generates are easy to understand.
