As a person who deals with engineers everyday, I think you are.  Gary, if the older cam gives you what you want, and the newer one only has just features over the older one.  I think you have bought the newer one in haste.  Just return it and wait a little longer to see if the benefits of the newer one will satisfy you later on down the road.  You can still buy it new, I would imagine.  And if the fever hits you again, then try it again at a later date.  Good luck!

Been in your shoes earlier this year. Bought a D-700 new and returned it.  But later realized I really needed the features, and got a better price on a used one with minimal shutter actions for a lot less for sports shooting. Gyms are pretty dark here!
