The Summicron C 40/2 is a more common focal length and is really small (probably smaller than the 16mm SONY).

Although it's not as good as the Zeiss 35mm biogons optically.

The 16mm SONY pancake is underrated stopped down (eg f8), which is what you want for a wide landscape type shots.

Given the variation in opinion on the lens and in reviews, it's possible there were different internal versions or else perhaps quality control issues in manufacturing.

CV15 is slightly larger than pancake, and is an excellent in this focal length range
