P510 just a few questions.......
Hi all, Im new to the site and hoping very soon to get my new shinny P510, I am moving up from a Panasonic Lumix Fz100, a great camera just suffering from Image noise and strange Image artifacts, and from the comparisons I have seen just not as good In pure IQ as the Nikon.
I am puzzled about a few things that are probably Nikon miss ups, being the lack of lens filters or a fiting lens hood, I had both fitted all the time on my Fz100 - a lens protector In the shape of a multi coated good qual, filter along with the supplied lens hood, I think under my shooting circumstances - living by the coast with all that sea spray and salt, that the above are very Imprtant to protect the delicate lens elements etc.
Any thoughts or suggestions please.
If you look at the lens, the exterior glass seems to be a protection one, not part of the optical set... it is fitted by a kind of "nut" with 3 square holes to use some kind of tool...
May be it is thinked to be replaced at service...
Any way... it is very sad not have a standard filter thead...
