SX50 HS, Does Well Capturing a Sand Dune Scene

So, I'm evaluating the SX50 HS, I purchased recently. So far, I have mixed thoughts. Most are favorable, except the ones that are unfavorable are very dissapointing. However, it has surprised me with a few shots, such as this one...

I'd say this camera has a great ability to capture a good exposure, relative to what the viewfinder/LCD indicates. This is pretty important to me, especially on cameras with small, limited DR sensors, such as this camera.
