Question about my new SX50 HS.

My new Powershot SX50 HS arrived in the post Yesterday, so I had a good play around with it.

There seems to be an option in 'AUTO' mode to do a continuous drive or composite shot, but when I switch to it only a single shot is taken.   I can access continuous drive in Programmable Auto, Shutter Priority and Aperture Priority but not just 'AUTO'.

Can anyone explain or have I found an obscure fault with the camera?

Also (not so important), how do I get to RAW shooting?

Everything else seems fine and I find the above puzzling considering burst mode and burst mode with autofocus (one reason for me upgradng from the SX40) in the scene modes seems to be fine.

General feelings is there's more to this camera and it's not so easy to press the various buttons accidentally on the SX50 as on the SX40 (the buttons are slightly more recessed into the body). Annoying is the swapping over of video and playback buttons.

I'm not 100% sure the extending of the zoom to 1200 mm is of that much benefit with moving targets though will be useful for wildlife and medium range (several metres), close up shots without the need to move closer. Shooting something on the distant horizon with extended zoom will be affected by prevalent weather conditions such as haze.
