Did you have the lens correction turned on?  This would help a bit with distortion and might make the edges seem more in focus.  As mentioned, the lighting in this scene is not optimal.  You might try using some DRO - maybe +1 or +2.  That would lighten the foreground while keeping the sky similar to what it is.

To me, your focus looks fine.  I'd say it's more of a lighting problem.  The leaves against the sky may have some motion blur, but the rest of the scene looks to be in pretty good focus.  Did you use a tripod?  1/60th is a pretty slow shutter.

I assume steady shot is turned on.
