Went to Iceland, brought a camera

In fact, faith stepped in to the rescue. I had planned to bring a 24-120mm f/4 for my D800 - but I never got round to ordering one. Before long it was time to go, and all I had on was a 50mm f/1.8.

Anyways, at the airport, one of the shops had a 28-300mm AF-S G VR in stock - and I though: what the hell, how bad can it be?

Well, not bad at all, in fact, it was very suited what I ended up shooting. 300mm proved very handy for a lot of the distance shots of both mountains and super trucks.

If you haven't already been to Iceland, go there! What an incredibly weird and different place - nature by looks kinda reminds me of home in the northernmost parts of Norway. But the hot earth bits just takes it to another level.

How about putting bread dough into milk cartons, burying them, and then the next day having baked bread? Yes, that's how weird/fascinating this place is.

I managed to secure me a seat in the tour guides car, along with a video photographer, and boy the insights into Icelandic life I got from that - these people are living it! All in all we were in a convoy of 13 large trucks/vans and one smaller Nissan Patrol that I was in.

These are some of the shots I've got from Iceland - and there are even more to be found in my flickr-stream.

Thanks for looking! C&C very welcome!
