Lens focal lengths for Easter Island

I'll be in Easter Island early next year and my research has not given me the information I need to know what lens focal lengths to bring. For those of you who have photographed there, how close will I be able to get to the Moai -- close enough for a super-wide to give me an interesting perspective?  How wide?  Are some Moai to be found only in the distance and require a telephoto lens for decent detail?  How long a telephoto?  Are there vantage points that will enable me to get good overviews of the Moai -- for that, will a semi-wide or normal focal length be useful?  I do want to carry light and, therefore, don't want to bring an arsenal of lenses.  I'd appreciate any information about the most useful lenses you have used.  Thanks, Tom
