I am using the RX100 for street photography and find af fast and snappy enough as long as the lens is set to wide angle (28mm equiv) with af set to center point in AFS mode (AF-C slows it down) and continuous shooting mode, image review turned off. fast toddlers are always a challenge to shoot, even with dslr's, i think the RX100 can handle it

Thanks for your response. Sounds promising. I believe the frame rate for RX100 continuous is something like 2.5. What's your feeling? Do you know if this improves with lower res settings?

yes, 2.5fps for jpgs, 2.2 for raw, and 10fps in speed priority - takes 13 shots and about 6 sec to clear the buffer, full size jpegs, do yourself a favor and buy a 95 Mb/s SD card, really makes a difference
