Thanks. So far only Nikon is mentioned.  I downloaded the12800 iso raw file of 5D II (my current camera ), 5D III and Nikon D800.

It seems that only at 3200 pix or lower reduction the Nikon D800 gets an advantage. It is a nice camera , but I would rather own that model for art work, than holliday snaps. Overall the latest Nikons and Canons fullframes seem to be very close with  high iso quality.

There are still some other cameras in the pipeline. Maybe I should wait till half december to see what Sony RX1 or Canon 6D are capable of.
