always use screen protector on all NEX cams or all cams for that matter. I never used camera without one.

There were many complaints of the NEX-5 screen falling aparat after 1 year....well mine has just turned 2.5 years of age and looks as new!!!! After very extensive use. This cam has traveled the world round few times and has many nice pictures behind it. Very rygged very good build.

I am just amazed how good NEXs are in durability bar the NEX-7 rubber issue.

Even DSLR users use them. I'm on my 4th protector now and I don't treat the 7 very well at all. I expect it. I'm actually surprised to see quite a few don't.

As for wear and tear, I still have SLR's here that have the paint coming off and showing the brass underneath the paint. Again, I expect it and I never resell cameras, they get run into the ground. I don't look at them as a resale value. Bad investment if they were.
