Please, not again.

Focus priority absolutely works on D800, please, test it before you write something. I did.

What does not work is trap focus, which is a different thing, and Nikon has ackonwledged that this is a design decision.

The reason why people think that the focus priority does not work is that they are lazy to press the AF-ON when testing. When using the AF-ON button, you have to press it first.

If you press the shutter release before pressing AF-ON, then the camera will fire.

If you first press the AF-ON, there is no way camera would fire until focus is reached, while being in focus priority mode.
