I can comment on the size of the D800 files.  They're big, really big.  I use D700s for my weddings but for the last one my rental house slipped in a D800.  I was initially thrilled.  Then came the post processing.  Preparing a single RAW file that comes in at 36mp and blows up to 200+ MB in Photoshop slows you way down.  I can't image how long it would take to do a RAW to jpeg conversion for 2,000 images.  You wouldn't mind going through the strain as much if these big files gave you a big medium-format type look but they don't.

I'm sticking with the D700s for now.  I just don't need a bigger file for wedding work or even my editorial work.  Magazines, websites and wedding albums don't require 36mp photos.  The D600 is out because it takes SD cards which I don't like using in the middle of a sporting event or wedding.  The D4 is in the sights right now.
