Mostly because I am a control freak and want to manage every stage. In the old days that meant I spent a lot of time in the darkroom. I don't want the chemicals and analog image creation. I am spoiled by the power and flexibility and precision of Photoshop.

I suppose I could use film, then scan it, then import into Photoshop, but the film is becoming less and less available, and I would still have to process it chemically.
