I like to take panorama shots as well. I like the 24-70 at 24mm for that. I have also done panos with a 50mm F1.8g and that works as well. I prefer the rendering from the 24-70 as the better coatings and ED glass shows through with nicer colours and an overall more pleasing rendering in my opinion.

70-200 would also be good for those many fantastic mountain shots but 24mm would probably be used most often. Even a 14mm F2.8 Samyang would be handy for the wider shots like lakes etc.
