The AF of 6D and D600 are similar with the same coverage and location of cross points, except 6D is more sensitive in low light.

The D600 has nine cross points clustered in the center vs a single one on the 6D.

Nine cross points clustered in the center is nine times (9x) better than a single cross point in the center.

Look, dude, the 6D AF system is essentially a single-point AF system.

no it isn't.

This AF system was the norm in 2005 (5Dc) and raised eyebrows in 2008 (5DII).
But in 2012, it's inexcusable that Canon put a single-point AF system in $2099 camera.

Those who like the 6D should go ahead and buy it.
Just cut the crap that the 6D has a good enough AF system. It does not.

have you used it?  for it's intended audience and for whom canon thinks will purchase it .. it may be perfect.  it's not meant to be a "pro" AF.  I've seen reports of those who have actually used it were blown away on how it could lock onto targets in near complete darkness - with accuracy.

$2099 is not an entry level price and Canon is ridiculous for putting such a basic AF system in a camera at that price.

cost of full frame nothing really to do with AF.

The only thing more ridiculous is Canon apologists/fanboys arguing about it.

actually the only thing more ridiculous is some people walking into every thread regardless of topic with a rain cloud over their head.
