Re: Franiec grip for Sigma DP1/DP2 Merrill announced

I actually bought a Franiac grip when I was planning to get the Sony RX100. Those plans were derailed when caught Steve Huff's review of the DP2M. No doubt Franiac got TONS of requests and he went to the trouble of advising ANYONE who might get one of his superb grips designed for prior DP's to NOT get it for the DP2/1 Ms. But he answered the call and I've no doubt it's a finely made item.

I ultimately got the superb grip fashioned by John Milich (which an earlier poster has graciously placed a link for more information about it) and while its vastly pricier than the Franiac grip, the extra mass from the materials increases the moment of inertia on the thing and that means better hand-held shots due to less camera shake at lower shutter speeds.

Both are great grips.

Life is an infinite series of moments called now. My job is to capture them.
