I have the AiS and the LTM version of this lens. Both are amazing, though the LTM may be slightly sharper at medium range. Both are excellent. I find that unless it is dark, and even if it is dark, I rarely need a tripod, especially with modern cameras that can move to rather high ISO's. Very stable lens, at least with my FE and D800.
Most of my most popular photos at flickr were taken with the same lens. Lovely.
