If you could only cary one zoom for travel, what would it be?

My travel lens dream list:

-compact and light

-punchy, sharp images

-fast (would love 2.8 or faster)

-good zoom range (does not need to be wide, as I also have the 14mm 2.5 and 20mm 1.7)

Given that you've got the wider end of the spectrum covered with faster primes (and I'd second the vote for the Olympus 45mm f/1.8 as an addition; it's a great lens), if you really do want a zoom to expand the range a bit, the new Panasonic 45-150mm is turning out to be a pretty good performer.

It's very small; when at the 45mm position, it's barely longer than the 14-42 kit zoom (not the pancake X zoom you have), and only a bit wider. Optically, it seems to be quite good, though the OIS I'm finding is somewhat underwhelming. Perhaps they can improve it with firmware, but I won't hold my breath.  It's not fast (f/4 to f/5.6), but it's not expensive either.
