I have the 70-200 vr II.   With the focus breathing, I consider it a 135mm lens on the long end for close subjects.    If you too have the VR II and use the 200mm at short range, then you should be looking at something like 135mm to 150mm prime to replace it.  The 135mm f2 is more reasonable than the 200mm f2, but it is still an expensive lens.

You could also try to expand your shooting options with a macro in the 150-180mm range.  Or you could think about adding a 300mm f4 for more reach.

But just about all telephoto lenses are going to be relatively heavy.
