12-60mm f/2.8-3.5 would be too big. It is more important for Olympus to match the IQ of the 43 lens, and where necessary sacrifice a little on the zoom range, or even the max aperture. Given all the other existing zooms, getting the best possible IQ is more important than the other way round, i.e. getting a zoom range and max aperture and not top IQ.

So, something like a 12-55mm f/3.5-4.5 with great IQ even wide open would be better. It is about time Olympus realise this. A really nice and versatile all-purpose zoom will attract lots of new customers who are not prepared to buy or fiddle with a lot of lenses to get good quality, just as a really nice and versatile camera body with everything built in (EVF, flash) for people who do not want to mount and dismount little accessories and keep tiny covers. Many of the new buyers are coming up from compacts and P&S cameras. It is very important to have foresight and attract these budding photographers/enthusiasts into the M43 system with easy to use quality products.
