There isn't all that much you can do about bokeh. It's a feature of the optical properties of the lens and there is just so much the photographer can do to affect the outcome, short of composing to address bokeh issues.

I think it looks kinda fakish with this lens. Hard to say, but I really don't like the pillar at sea in the first picture, for instance, which I think retains way more shape than it ideally should. But that's just my taste - some other people here have indicated they find it good looking.

Could you try for evening shots with some point light sources in the deep background (way beyond the DOF sharpness)? That is usually quite revealing about lens bokeh properties.
