Gary Friedman writes in his 65 77 Book;

The result of an out of camera jpeg made in a few second is so good, most Raw user will never be able to reach this quality by PP their Raw's.

He only makes Raw for an important shoot and/or as an insurance. Or in bad light situations, when he knows PP will be needed..
