For a theoretically perfect lens, DOF is determined by focal length, aperture and sensor size.    But real lenses all fall short in some ways of the approaching what is theoretically possible.  The more money you spend, the closer you can come to theoretically perfect.    Theoretically, all lenses would have good bokeh.    But in reality, some lenses have more pleasing bokeh than others.
