You get metering on the D200. Essentially, a D200 is an older D300, and goes down to ISO100. For your purposes, I think you should be OK.

Oh, and get a spare battery. The CCD sensor uses a lot of energy, on a night out I typically get 400 to 500 pictures per charge. No flash of course
