I contacted Sony support regarding timeframe for availability of the 'G' zoom mentioned on their roadmap, and this is what I got for a reply:

"The Sony G Series lenses are only available for A-mount cameras; however, you may still use the G series lenses on an E-mount camera by using the LA-EA2 Alpha NEX Camera Mount Adapter. This allows A-mount lenses to be used with E-mount camera bodies and supports full-time continuous Phase Detect AF."

I don't think the Sony Support rep is correct. The Lens roadmap is specifically titled: e-mount lens roadmap, and states 15 e-lenses and 2 converters. It doesn't say "emount lenses and some a-mount lenses. If the G zoom is an alpha mount, why didn't show they show other alpha lenses on this e-mount road map???

I think you got a reply from junior member of the support team who doesn't know what's going on.
