It all depends what you shoot. Outdoor pics on sunny days of things that are not moving quickly allow you to use low ISO's and low shutter speeds and you'll be very happy with a bridge camera. Take photos of more demanding subjects or under less favorable circumstances are when the higher ISO's become necessary to get a decent shot.

Do people really spend $700 on a camera so they can take a picture of a squirrel or a duck?
