True. Although the 50/1.8D is actually quite sharp at f/2.8. The 35/1.8G is very sharp wide open, that much is true, but it's not a 50mm lens. I personally don't like it very much, and I don't care if it gives the same FOV as 50mm on a cropped sensor because it simply doesn't doesn't have the same look as a 50mm does. The 50mm f/1.8G is good for sure.
