Re: no

Adorama has D80  E+ used for $264.00

Nikon Outlet has refurbished D80 for $419.00

D80 is a credible camera with NICE landscape and skin tone color rendition. It's not as good a low light camera as the D5100 by any means. However, it was considered the "poor man's" D200 when it came out, as the D5100 is considered the same in relation to the D7000 now. It DOES have nice user controls and both a command and subcommand wheel. View finder is nice enough, and the LCD gives good histogram info. Decent ISO up to 800, but I have shot very nice indoor graduation shots at ISO 1600 (but at 1/60th so you have to pan with a moving person +/or plan the shot during a time when not much movement is happening).

When the D5200 becomes available, many "lesser" cameras will drop in price, so why not wait a month and see?

Not a fan of the lens you are looking at. Agree with previous post about VR. The 16-85mm VR is a FINE lens.

As often is the case, you need to decide what types of images you seek to capture and get a lens and body that can do that nicely.
