Need Software Advice on Video Editing for GoPro Hero2
Download the free Cineform Studio software via the GoPro site. It works fine with the Hero 2. You will also be able to update your Hero to the new Protune feature.
You can then edit the clips in Studio including In and Out points - which mean you can trim off the start and the end to result in just the part you want to keep. You then "convert" the clip to an AVI (Windows) or MOV (Mac). Whether you use the AVI or not is up to you - you can bring it into an NLE. After that you have the option to output an MP4 file.
I don't think it can do screen grabs but you could get those from the AVI or the final MP4 using any number of free editors. Better would be to take stills at the same time using the new GoPro iphone / Ipad wifi app, or the unofficial RemoteGo app for android.
