I can vouch for the 12mm f2 Olympus lens s being a fantastic lens, and a must-have. It was the only lens used in a 6-week long European holiday, and I loved it. I've got some photos (some only from the many...) that I took with it in Europe - have a look in my pictures.

I also tried the 45mm f1.8, although I didn't buy it then (but I will). It does give you shallow depth of field, say, for portrait pictures. It's not long enough to give you shallow DOF for subjects farther away, but it's also a great lens - so sharp. And it's about half the price of the 75mm f1.8.

But as a go-everywhere lens, you must try the 12mm f2, in my opinion.
