Actually I just put mine where sunlight could get inside it. if you have a UV source then I guess that would be better. I'd leave it for a day or 2 in the sun just to be sure but don't do anything like leave it stored in sunlight or UV,  it can destabilize plastics and ruin glue. if you have UV light then I imagine a few minutes or a couple of hours should work.  Defiantly keep an eye on it in the future and if there is any sign of fungus put it in the sun again.. oh!! and the windows in your house filter UV so putting it on a window sill won't work direct sunlight is what you want.
