Every body I returned was defective - these will presumably go back to Nikon. Personally, I think liberal return policies that allow painless return of defective items is one of the great things about purchasing here (Amazon in particular). That said, let's not beat this dead horse of a topic (ie return policies in America, etc).

Unfortunately, someone is abusing this system to the extreme.

I read another thread that one member ask if he should return either lens A or lens B (both over $1500) because he can only afford one!? He know he can afford only one to begin with but he still bought them both and planned to return one! If this is not abuse! What is?
