You are right about the 50 being tight indoors. It's a bit long as a standard lens on DX anyway so not the best choice IMO. I would suggest you get the 35mm f1.8 G instead. It's a nicer lens with nicer bokeh anyway, not just a more useful focal length.
Your other choices seem to stretch you budget unless you are buying used. On DX I like the Nikon 70~200mm f2.8 VRI, which you should be able to find used. Is that longer than you need though?

Sigma made a 50~150mm f2.8 that might suit you better. There are 2 versions of it, the newer one being a bit nicer.

Obviously you can't do it all so I think you need to decide what focal lengths you wish to cover before you dive in. You might even find a fast prime is a good option, maybe a Sigma 85mm f1.4 or Nikon 85mm f1.8G?
