It impacts shadow lifting or banding in shadows in high DR pictures or shots with vignetting corrected pictures (essentially shadow lifts in corners).  I see banding at ISO 100 often...this correlates with those findings and tells me that the 5DMKIII's banding at low ISO is as noticable as the 5DMKII at ISO 1600.  This is really good news to me since at ISO 1600 its very rare that I notice this banding compared to ISO 100.

It may also influence low light videography...I see pattern noise on liveview in this situation as well.

Regardless it seems to show that the 5DMK III does have much reduced banding/ pattern noise.  Another interesting data point would be to see the effect of LR4 or Canon's own DPP NR algorithms in banding reduction vs in-camera firmware processing.
