Here are a couple of examples of what I mean

This one was tricky , with the sun creeping through in between the leafs i didn't want the flash gun to over power that fine detail,... a bit of guess work , a lot of experience


This one was just a lower angle with no flash , lowered the contrast in PP, added some blacks, bit of clarity slider(lightroom) a total of 1 minute of work

Getting a different perspective No Flash

Well in this one it's all about perseverance and how much you want to get the shot. Drove up the first exit I saw, climbed on a cliff and voila.... think I used the 17-35 Minolta PP in lightroom with a gradient filter from right to left in order to get the main spotlight on the cyclists.


This is my personal favoirte call me an "artiste" but it really does something for me. Exactly what I told you, aim your spot(sunny spot between two trees) pre focus and wait
